Well there goes another week and how have you all been.  At our house we all seem to be getting the flu.  My poor little man had it first and with a runny nose and a terrible chesty cough he still manages to give us a big smile.

I have decided that I am going to change a few posts around so that I am not late with any tutorials that I have planned.  Trying to get them done during the week is just not happening.

I’m thinking that Sunday works better for me as then I have daddy at home to help me out with the kids so that I can get things done.  I also want to be able to do a few tutes on anything that I like in books that I find.

But back to what you have all been up to.  I have noticed this time round that there are a few links to DIY’s in the garden which is great.

Here is what caught my eye:

1. What a great way to recycle an old wooden bed frame.  First it was a stage for the kids and now they have turned it into a raised garden bed. Awesome, Pondered Primed Perfected
2. Another great idea and something that I have been planning to do to my veggie garden beds only with netting, is this little green house over at Love and Laundry.
3. Andrew and I hunted around for an old rocking chair for the nursery before Jorja was born and ended up buying a brand new one, oh well.  Just love this revamp over at Aprons & Ambition.
4. Another lovely remodel is this cane chair at The Cards We Drew, makes me think of Spring.
5. An no I have delved into the land of sewing quilts just yet but I love this pattern over at Sew Sweet Cottage
6. Soap in a pouch, this is a great idea and definitely one that I will be making for the kids to use, especially when camping.  I found it at Vanessa’s Values who found it over at Whimsy Love.
7. And last but not least, this French bread recipe is one that I am going to try especially as I have started to bake my own bread on weekends with the bread machine.  You can find the recipe at Just 2 Birds.

Hello everyone, how are we all today.  It was Mother’s Day in Australia yesterday and the weather was perfect for me to spend the day outside fixing up the veggie garden.

Poor thing has been neglected by myself and needed alot of TLC.  It was perfect weather for it too.

                

Scrambled eggs on toast for all us for breakfast, yummy Subway Seafood Sensation for Daddy and I for lunch and meatball for the girls, then it was Piri Piri Chicken cooked by Daddy for dinner.  Spoilt!!!!

 

 

With the cold weather coming in I thought I would have a look through all the linkup parties and see if there are any tutes for Winter.  And here is what I found:

1. Projects around the world shares a great little pattern for a Newborn Beanie.
2. And you know how much I love something that has been upcycled, like this Pumpkin Spice Cardigan DIY over at Scout’s Stitches
3. Quilting is something I have still yet to try and its great to see one that has been made for a boy, like this one over at Oxford Impressions
4. This pepperoni roll looks very yummy and perfect for those cold winter lunch times.  You can find the recipe over at Talking Dollars and Cents.
5. I love these sleepy sacks and I used them on all of my kiddies through the winter months.  Here is a great tutorial to make your own over at The pursuit of happiness.
6. Another yummy dish and I so now want a clay pot.  This chicken dish is great for a cold winters Sunday dinner. Thanks for sharing My Turn (for us).
7. I love this fabric and I have this giraffe material in the mustard colour in my fabric stash.  Head on over to Sew easy being green to find out how to make them.
8. And finally, here is a great tutorial for a casserole carrier I found at Love Bugs Lane.

I think it is time for me to go and sit outside in the warm autumn sun and finish a crochet order I have.

Found it at the Library

 

A little while ago I picked up some 5” moda and Riley Blake packs from Little Starfish Fabrics and thought I would make a couple of quilts for the kids.

So I quickly hoped on to the Library Catalogue and madly requested a few quilting books.

And here is what I ended up with (sorry camera is out of action and had to use my phone):

 

I must say I think I need to find a beginners quilting book as although these books are fantastic and beautifully illustrated, I had a huge quilting information overload and started to panic.

I think the sensible thing for me to do is to start a few basic patterns and then take it from there.  I have to remember yes I can sew but I’m not that great yet lol!

What a very wet weekend we just had her in Jimboomba.  I thought the poor dogs where going to float away in their dog house if it didn’t let up.  A few road closures around the area but nothing major.

I have been working on a few Bunny Beanies for Easter.  I thought I might do something different this time and add a bit of fabric to the ears.  What do you think?

                      

I tried one on Ethan to see how the ears would sit.  Yep he wasn’t very happy with mummy, not even a biscuit would make him happy lol!

I also finished a new hand sanitiser and dummy pouch set that I will be selling on Made It:

 

I finally got through all the blog posts that I have been following. I had 1000+ and must admit I had to mark a few as read as it was going to take forever. 

But I still managed to checkout all the lovely things you have been making:

  

 

           

  

1. Love the fabric Kassie from Mommy to a little lady{bug} has used to make these cute toddler boots
2. I wish I was using my sewing machine more when the girl’s were little.  I just love the little crochet flower added to these adorable shoes by Somewhere in the Middle
3. I so have to make one of these little guys.  Loving this little birdy by PaperTurtle. The pattern is free from Lion Brand
4. Little Stitches for Little Ones by Amy Butler is a must have on my book list.  It has inspired Zween, a blog about making and sharing to use these gorgeous vintage fabric to make a changing pad.
5. Found this great tutorial over at The Mother Huddle. This would be a great project for a young girl to make. 
6. Who Doesn’t love Dr Seuss.  I remember my Dad taking me to the library when I was little and borrowing out Dr Seuss books.  I have bought the whole collection for my girls.  Will have make these great hats by Kitchen Fun with my 3 sons.
7. What a great way to brighten up a plain dress. Tutorial is found over at Show, Tell, Share…
8. OMG how cute are these.  I had a similar pattern I came up with for a pair of sandals my niece use to where that looked like these.  Just loving Crochet Dreamz work.
9. I bought some lovely pre cut squares from Little Starfish Fabrics that I hoping to make into my very first quilt. Love the gorgeous fabric JAQS studio has used in this one.
10. And last but not least, I have seen a few things that Scrabble squares have been made out of but never coasters.  What a great idea.  You can find the tutorial over at Pops and Podge.

Well I have a few things that I should be doing and the Little Man is wanting mummy’s undivided attention so must dash.

And it’s only February

 

WARNING!!!: PHOTO OVERLOAD LOL!!!

Hello everyone, how have you all been.  Yes I know I have been very slack and I promise you that from now on I am back.

I have had a lot going on with personal life and Bits & Bobs.  My baby girl started prep this year and we are missing her during the day especially her baby sister.

We had some great family photo’s taken by the lovely Kylie at Kaddy Collections.  It was a very cold and rainy morning but Kylie has done wonders with the pictures and you can’t even tell how miserable the weather was.

We went camping over the Australia Day long weekend to Murphy’s Creek Escape.

 

 

And my furry best friend of 14 years passed away last week and is missed very much.

And it’s only February!!!.  I have been doing a lot of changes with my little venture Bits & Bobs 4 Bubs.  My problem is I get an idea in my head and instead of writing it down and leaving it for another day, I rush out and buy all the stuff for that idea and as this happens a lot I end up with 50 projects going at once.

I had a real good look at what I really wanted Bits & Bobs to be all about, all I need to do now is get organised and get started.  It’s funny hubby has finished Uni and no longer sits in the study every night with me keeping myself occupied crocheting or watching my favourite show.  It’s now my turn to hide in the sewing room while he tries to find something to do.

So I have gone through my stash cupboard, tubs, boxes and bags and sorted everything out.

Here are a few things that I have been making while I have been absent from posting:

Pram/Stroller liners are new to Bits & Bobs                 

 

My Trolley covers now come with a toy hook                

I have re designed my capsule inserts for baby trolley’s                        

 

Custom Made Orders

And I’m thinking about trying my hand at quilting, very excited about this!

 

So as you can see I have been busy and I’m sorry for all the photo’s but as I said busy busy.

Now to get back on track with my usual posting on Monday.  I have a tutorial for Wednesday using this:

And I have been busy borrowing books from the library and working out in our gardens.  So stay tuned and I promise I will be back on Monday!
